There has been much speculation around actor Darshan’s upcoming film Devil, which is steadily progressing towards completion. The team recently wrapped up a significant 70-day shooting schedule across Bengaluru and Udaipur.
According to The New Indian Express, the final schedule of the film is set to be shot in Thailand. The cast and crew are slated to travel on Tuesday for a 10-day schedule that includes key song sequences and montage visuals across picturesque locations such as Phuket, Krabi, and Bangkok.
Thashwini Veer, the executive producer and wife of director Prakash Veer, reflected on the demanding journey of the shoot: “We had shot for 18 days last year, and having resumed in April this year, we’ve now wrapped the Bengaluru schedule in 70 days on Friday. We worked 24 hours straight on some days, and it’s been intense, but it helped us complete the shoot."
On November 2, 2023, Devil was announced, and on March 22, 2024, principal photography got underway in Bengaluru.
However, the production was temporarily put on hold in early 2025 after Darshan was arrested for allegedly being involved in the murder of Renukaswamy. After that, it started up again in full force.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the film's next installment since its initial teaser was released on February 15, 2024, which also happened to be Darshan's birthday.
After their previous successful project with Tarak, Darshan and director Prakash Veer have now worked together twice on Devil. Renowned actor Mahesh Manjrekar plays the primary antagonist in the movie, while Rachana Rai plays the female lead. Vinay Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, and Sharmiela Mandre also play important parts in the ensemble cast.
Presented by Jai Matha Combines and produced under Vaishno Studios by J Jayamma and Prakash Veer, the film features cinematography by Sudhakar S Raj and music by Ajaneesh Loknath, promising a visually and sonically rich cinematic experience.
