Kajol will return in The Trial

Kajol is all set to return as Noyonika Sengupta in the most-awaited, The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha Season 2. The new season was announced on Wednesday.

The official social media channels of JioHotstar shared an announcement video in which Kajol amusingly dismissed the idea of a 'comeback'. She admitted in the video that she never really left and has been consistently active in her career.

The video then took a humorous turn when it was revealed that she would make a comeback on the show. In season 2, Kajol’s character Noyonika stands firmly in the ruthless world of law, facing fresh challenges, tough decisions, and unexpected betrayals.

According to PTI, Kajol reflected on the upcoming season and her character. She shared, “Professionally, it has been an incredibly enriching year for me - I've had the chance to explore a range of characters and stories and among them, Noyonika remains especially close to my heart.”

The actress added, “From being an underdog in the first season to having found her own footing in the cut-throat legal world, I've loved stepping back into her shoes. I genuinely can’t wait for all of you to experience what we’ve created this season. It’s been a labor of love.”

Directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Banijay Asia, The Trial also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Sonali Kulkarni, Sheeba Chadha, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait, Gaurav Pandey, and Karanvir Sharma in the key roles. The series is adapted from the American Legal drama, The Good Wife.

The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha Season 2 will release on JioHotstar on September 19.
