India Couture Week 2025 is currently underway in New Delhi, and the event has been a dazzling spectacle of glamour and high fashion, with several Bollywood celebrities gracing the runway in creations by some of the country’s most renowned designers.

Among them, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar turned heads as he brought a touch of royal elegance to the Hyundai FDCI India Couture Week 2025, walking as the showstopper for the celebrated designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock.

On Friday night, Akshay walked confidently down the ramp wearing an ivory achkan-style sherwani, looking like a desi prince.

The outfit, which had padded shoulders, exquisite gold button detailing, intricate silk thread embroidery, and razor-sharp tailoring, was the ideal fusion of old-world charm and modern sophistication.

A pair of sleek black sunglasses gave the ensemble a contemporary edge, while the sherwani's delicate shimmer and regal silhouette added a majestic flair.

The esteemed Taj Palace Hotel is the venue for the fashion gala, providing a magnificent backdrop for this fashion event. The runway, which was surrounded by lush greenery and classical pillars, served as the backdrop for a collection that evoked the grandeur of Indian royalty and was inspired by the architectural beauty of famous buildings like the Laxmi Vilas Palace and the City Palace in Jaipur.

Following his ramp appearance, Akshay engaged in light-hearted banter with the paparazzi before giving his thoughts on the incident. After 12 years, he expressed great joy at walking for Falguni Shane Peacock, according to a PTI report.

He lauded the designer duo’s creativity and dedication, saying, “I have enjoyed each and every bit of it... I’ve seen how much hard work goes into putting together and organizing a fashion show, and then it all ends in just 25 minutes. People get dressed up elaborately, and within 25 minutes, the whole show is over. But I just want to tell you that Shane and Falguni, the way they present themselves in such an international way, I think they have made India so proud. I wish them lots of luck and I hope I get another chance to be with them.”
