PVR INOX Limited has officially entered into a strategic partnership with JioStar to present the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup live across select cinema screens in India and Sri Lanka in 2026.
The move builds on the overwhelming audience enthusiasm witnessed during previous live sports screenings, aiming to recreate the electrifying atmosphere of a cricket stadium within the immersive setting of a cinema hall.
Through this collaboration, PVR INOX will screen select group-stage matches, including all fixtures featuring Team India. The line-up will also cover Super 8 games, Playoffs, Semi-Finals and the Final, subject to necessary local approvals. The initiative promises to transform cinemas into vibrant fan zones, blending cutting-edge audiovisual technology with the shared energy of live sports.
One of the tournament’s most anticipated matches — the India vs Pakistan clash on 15th February 2026 — is set to be screened across 300 screens in more than 50 markets. Additional screens may be added depending on audience demand. To ensure wide accessibility, ticket prices will begin at Rs. 99, making the experience affordable for cricket lovers across demographics.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Aamer Bijli, Lead Specialist – Innovation, Film Marketing and Digital Programming, PVR INOX Ltd., said, “We are excited to partner with JioStar to bring the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 to our cinemas. Cricket and cinema are two of the biggest passions in the country, and this association allows fans to experience the excitement of the tournament together on the big screen. Last year, we saw a very strong response to our live cricket screenings across cities, which clearly showed the growing appeal of watching marquee matches in cinemas. At PVR INOX, we remain focused on enhancing the out of home entertainment experience by bringing iconic sporting events closer to audiences across India.”
The collaboration offers cricket enthusiasts the opportunity to witness the drama and intensity of the World Cup on a cinematic scale, combining the thrill of live sport with the comfort, premium ambience, and advanced projection and sound systems of PVR INOX theatres. Viewers can also elevate their match-day outing with the brand’s signature food and beverage options, turning each screening into a community celebration.
