NBCUniversal’s popular syndicated daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show will come to an end after its current seventh season, closing the chapter on a programme that has been a consistent presence in daytime television since 2019.
The decision, which was shared with the show’s staff and crew, puts an end to weeks of speculation about whether the series would continue in some form beyond this season.
Kelly Clarkson, whose contract was believed to conclude with Season 7, has officially chosen to step away from hosting the show.
While there had been talk that NBCUniversal might attempt to keep The Kelly Clarkson Show going with a different host, the network has instead decided to wrap the series entirely.
The timing follows a deeply emotional year for Kelly Clarkson. Last spring, she took a break from the show to be with her children as their father underwent cancer treatment. He passed away in August, a loss that has understandably reshaped her priorities.
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” As per Deadline, Kelly Clarkson said in a statement.
Production on the current season will continue as scheduled, with Kelly Clarkson remaining at the helm, though she will take some days off. Guest hosts will step in during her absences, and Season 7 episodes are expected to continue airing through autumn 2026.
Looking back on her journey, Kelly Clarkson expressed heartfelt gratitude for the team behind the show and the audience that supported it. “I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at The Kelly Clarkson Show, both in Los Angeles and New York,” she said, adding that while this chapter is ending, it is not a farewell to fans. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time … you never know where I might show up next.”

Launched off the back of Kelly Clarkson’s success on The Voice, the talk show quickly became one of the most successful daytime programmes in the US. Its blend of music, candid conversations and the viral Kellyoke segment helped it connect with audiences both on television and online.
Over seven seasons, The Kelly Clarkson Show won 24 Daytime Emmy Awards and reached viewers in more than 200 markets, leaving behind a legacy defined by kindness, music and genuine connection.
