Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is gearing up for his upcoming film, Mayday, and the makers have recently sent the fans into a frenzy with the release of the first-look photo during its press day in Santa Monica on Tuesday.
Ryan will star alongside Kenneth Branagh in the Apple TV film.
The official social media handle of Apple TV shared the first look of the film with the caption, “Mayday. Coming September 4 to Apple TV. A new action comedy movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh.”
In the first look picture, tired Ryan and Kenneth were seen lying on the snow, it seems like they have fallen from a height.
Described as a genre-bending, action-packed buddy comedy that turns the spy thriller on its head, the film will debut on the streamer on September 4.
At the height of the Cold War, hotshot U.S. Navy pilot Lieutenant Troy “Assassin” Kelly (played by Reynolds) is sent on a top-secret mission into Russian territory, but the operation fails, and he is left stranded behind enemy lines.
Troy believes he is doomed after being found by Nikolai Ustinov (Branagh), a tough former KGB agent who enjoys American culture. However, could an odd alliance between the two result in Troy's rescue and a friendship neither of them anticipated?

The film is a part of Skydance's first-look agreement with Apple, which previously produced the action-comedy Ghosted starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, the Mark Wahlberg film The Family Plan, and the genre-bending The Gorge starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy.
