According to Deadline, Greene was found dead on Friday, December 12, at his Manhattan apartment. His manager, Gregg Edwards, confirmed the news to the publication. The cause of death has not been disclosed so far.
Born on October 8, 1965, in Montclair, New Jersey, Peter Greene made his first on-screen appearance in 1990 with NBC’s crime drama Hardball.
He went on to land his first feature film role two years later in Laws of Gravity, where he shared screen space with Edie Falco.
Greene gained widespread recognition for playing Zed, a sadistic rapist security guard, in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 cult classic Pulp Fiction. In the same year, he portrayed the villain Dorian in Jim Carrey’s The Mask. He was also remembered for his performance in Training Day alongside Denzel Washington and appeared in The Usual Suspects.
Pulp Fiction went on to win the Palme d’Or at Cannes, cementing its status as a cultural landmark. Although brief, Greene’s role was strikingly brutal and played a significant part in the film’s impact.
