Jimmy Donaldson is back with the next chapter of his record-breaking reality competition, Beast Games Season 2 and this time, he has pushed the boundaries of scale, ambition and storytelling like never before.
For Season 2, the ambition wasn’t just about upping the prize money or the challenges. It was about how the show looks, feels and moves. While filming the new season, MrBeast revealed that Beast Games Season 2 was shot using rare, high-end equipment typically reserved for big studio productions.
Speaking about the scale of the setup, he said, “We used a camera that cost half a million dollars to film me. Marvel used the same camera to shoot their movies. There’s only 20 of them in the world. And, so like my cameraman had this giant exoskeleton suit on because the camera weighs so much, that it had to distribute the weight over his body because he wouldn’t be able to move around with it. My camera guy was an ex military combat camera person, so they have experience holding that kind of gear.”
But the ambition doesn’t stop at production. With Beast Games already renewed for a third season, MrBeast is thinking even bigger when it comes to who might step into the arena next.
When asked which celebrities he would love to see participate in the Games, he said excitedly, “Do you have The Rock’s number? I’d love to invite The Rock. The Rock, Dwayne! DM me on Instagram Dwayne!”
Beast Games Season 2 has Donaldson returning as the host and executive producer, alongside Sean Klitzner, Tyler Conklin, and Mack Hopkins, who serve as co-creators.
Sean Klitzner and Matt Apps serve as showrunners, as well as executive producers, joined byMichael Cruz, Jeff Housenbold, Tyler Conklin, Michael Miller, Josh Kulic, and Chris Keiper.
Tyler Conklin also returns as series director. Beast Games Season 2 premieres on January 7, exclusively on Prime Video.
