Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin has recently made a comeback to the Golden Globes 2026 after a 35-year hiatus. He graced the annual award ceremony as one of the presenters.

Macaulay presented the Best Screenplay, Motion Picture award at the Nikki Glaser-hosted presentation on January 11 at the Beverly Hilton. However, he was not alone at the award show as he was accompanied by his wife, Brenda Song, who was moved by the kind reaction he received.

Macaulay received a huge applause when he entered the stage. He expressed gratitude and said, “Wow, thanks guys.” Talking about his hiatus, the actor added, “It’s been 35 years since I’ve been to the Globes. Thanks for welcoming me back, that’s really nice of you guys.”

Macaulay joked, “I know it’s weird seeing me outside the holiday season,” adding, “but shockingly I do exist all year round, I promise you.”

The former child actor explained that it made “a lot of sense” for him to be presenting the award for Best Screenplay, as they are a medium he is intimately familiar with, quipping, “I’ve been reading screenplays basically since I learned to read.”

During an episode of SmartLess podcast in December, Macaulay reflected on his career and shared, “Technically, I’m retired right now. I retire and then, if I find something I like, I unretire, do that, and I immediately retire afterwards.”
