
Hollywood actor Kiefer Sutherland was reportedly arrested after allegedly assaulting a ride-sharing driver in Los Angeles on Monday, January 1. The actor was reportedly taken into custody after the police arrived at the incident at Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood just after midnight.
According to KTLA, which cites authorities, Kiefer Sutherland allegedly physically attacked the driver and threatened to commit crimes.
The LAPD verified to NBC that the actor was detained on suspicion of committing felonies. According to the publication, neither side suffered injuries that necessitated additional medical care.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, a Los Angeles Police Department official described how officers responded to a radio report about an attack involving a rideshare driver on January 12 at approximately 12:15 a.m.
Officers detained Sutherland on suspicion of making criminal threats when they arrived close to the West Hollywood neighbourhood's Sunset Blvd. and Fairfax Ave. intersection.
The LAPD’s statement reads, “The investigation determined that the suspect, later identified as Kiefer Sutherland, entered a rideshare vehicle, physically assaulted the driver (the victim), and made criminal threats toward the victim.”
The Department stated that the alleged victim did not have any injuries that needed to be treated right away. The incident is presently being looked into by detectives from the Hollywood Division.
Kiefer Sutherland's most well-known role is that of Jack Bauer, the main character in the Fox action series 24, who fights criminals. The limited series 24: Live Another Day, the TV film 24: Redemption, and all eight seasons of 24 starring the son of actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas. For the performance, he received a Golden Globe and an Emmy.

Kiefer Sutherland received his fourth DUI in eighteen years in 2007 after being apprehended on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was given a term of more than a month in prison after entering a no-contest plea.
Two years later, he was detained once more for allegedly head-butting Jack McCollough, the founder of Proenza Schouler. However, after Kiefer Sutherland and McCollough released a joint statement in which he expressed regret, the charges were withdrawn.
