Kelly Osbourne has hit back firmly at online critics and body-shamers following reactions to her appearance after the 2026 BRIT Awards, where she and her mother, Sharon Osbourne, accepted a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her father, Ozzy Osbourne. The star’s emotional response on social media highlighted the cruelty she’s faced and called for more compassion online.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on March 1, Kelly addressed comments about her weight loss and physical appearance that surfaced after the high-profile event. Taking to her Instagram story, Kelly wrote, “There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character.”
Kelly Osbourne then reiterated, “I’m currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won’t sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!”
The 41-year-old has been navigating public scrutiny about her weight and health since her father’s death in July 2025, with some online critics even making insensitive assumptions about her using weight-loss drugs — speculation she has previously rejected while explaining her struggles emotionally after the loss. Fans rallied to her defense, countering abusive comments and emphasising empathy and respect.
