Hollywood actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone are all set to collaborate on a Miss Piggy movie. They will join forces with Oh, Mary Tony winner Cole Escola.
The movie, which is the longtime friends' first joint venture, is presently in the early stages of development at Disney. Jennifer and Emma will produce the feature film, for which Cole Escola wrote the screenplay.
Jennifer revealed the impending project during an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast, which is hosted by Bowen Yang and 35-year-old Oscar-winning Matt Rogers.
Talking about the film, Jennifer said, “I don’t know if I can announce this, but I am just going to …" Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie, and Cole is writing it.”
Following their ecstatic screams, the co-hosts inquired as to whether Stone and Lawrence, who have been friends for a long time, would be co-starring in the movie.
Lawrence teased, “I think so. We have to… It’s fucked up [that we haven’t done a movie together]."
Lawrence disclosed her desire to portray Mary Todd Lincoln in the title role. But after thinking about the Great White Way's gruelling eight-shows-per-week schedule, she had second thoughts.

She elaborated, “I don’t think I would be good at [theatre]… It’s all your body and voice. The only time I wanted to do theatre was when I wanted to do ‘Oh, Mary!’ They were like, ‘It’s eight shows a week and six weeks of rehearsal.’ I was like, ‘Do you have daycare there?’ It just wouldn’t have worked.”
The upcoming film will be Miss Piggy's first feature film as a solo artist. Bonnie Erickson and Frank Oz created the iconic character, who is a member of the Muppets ensemble, in the 1970s. The Muppet's Wizard of Oz, released in 1974, was her first on-screen appearance.
