Grammy Awards 2026: Lady Gaga transforms into a gothic bird

The 2026 Grammy Awards aren’t just about music and glamour — the star-studded gift bags are making headlines too. This year’s haul, curated by Distinctive Assets, includes over 40 brands offering a mix of luxury, novelty, and playful surprises, from musical lollipops to a $500 GROHE shower head.

Before the night had even properly begun, Lady Gaga had already made it clear that the 2026 Grammy Awards were going to be unforgettable.

As she arrived at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, the atmosphere shifted instantly.

Staying true to her love of drama and transformation, the “LoveDrug” hitmaker leaned fully into gothic fantasy. Lady Gaga appeared in a striking feathered gown by Matières Fécales, turning herself into something otherworldly.

The look featured an exaggerated high neckline, a sleek, body-contouring silhouette and an extra-long skirt that trailed behind her, gliding across the carpet. Dozens of delicate black feathers framed the entire ensemble, giving it movement and texture that felt alive with every step she took.

Of course, Lady Gaga’s commitment never stops at clothing alone. Her beauty look was just as deliberate and bold. She opted for sculpted, snatched makeup with sharply defined cheekbones, bleached eyebrows, a smoky brown winged eye and nude lips.

Her platinum-blonde hair flowed down to her waist, styled half-up and half-down in soft, beachy waves — an unexpected contrast that softened the severity of the look while still keeping it unmistakably Gaga.

Fans know better than to expect just one outfit from Lady Gaga, and this appearance is widely expected to be the first of several throughout the evening. The timing couldn’t be more fitting.

Lady Gaga is nominated for seven awards this year, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Abracadabra,” Album of the Year for Mayhem, Best Solo Pop Performance for “Disease,” Best Dance Pop Recording for “Abracadabra,” Best Pop Vocal Album for Mayhem and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for Harlequin.

Across her career, Lady Gaga has collected 45 Grammy nominations and 14 wins so far — a staggering achievement that could easily grow by the end of the night.

This is also a back-to-back Grammy appearance for Lady Gaga, who turned heads last year in a Victorian-inspired Vivienne Westwood couture gown.

That look featured a leather bodice, lace-up corsetry, dramatic shoulder pads and a sweeping ballgown skirt, paired with a 90-year-old Tiffany & Co. necklace from the brand’s 1930s archive. She also debuted her now-iconic inky-black jellyfish haircut with micro-bangs.
