The upcoming reality show The 50 continues to build buzz ahead of its Indian debut with the addition of two distinct personalities from the entertainment and digital worlds. Popular content creator Dushyant Kukreja and television actor Shiny Doshi have officially joined the contestant lineup of the Banijay-owned global format, which premieres on February 1 on JioHotstar and Colors.
Known for his massive digital footprint, Dushyant Kukreja has carved a unique space online with his sharp humour, timing-driven sketches and highly relatable short-form videos. With a cumulative following of over 50 million subscribers across platforms, Kukreja has mastered the art of holding attention in seconds. His entry into The 50 marks a clear departure from curated, edited content to a raw, unscripted environment where control is minimal and reactions are real.
Speaking about his decision to join the show, Dushyant said, “From creating content for close to 50 million subscribers on YouTube to stepping into The 50, I come from a space where reactions are instant and people scroll if you don’t hold their attention. The 50 is the opposite of that. You can’t edit yourself, you can’t reset a moment, and you definitely can’t hide. That’s what excited me. I’m curious to see who I become when I’m not performing for the screen, but simply living in the moment.”
Joining him is actor Shiny Doshi, who returns to television after a three-year gap. Best known for her performance in Pandya Store, Shiny has built a steady career through long-form storytelling and character-driven roles that have helped her connect deeply with audiences. Her participation in The 50 signals a shift from scripted narratives to a strategy-led reality format where instinct, observation and decision-making play a crucial role.
Sharing her thoughts on the show, Shiny said, “Returning to television after three years feels incredibly special, especially with a show like The 50. I’ve always believed that listening, observing and choosing wisely can be just as powerful as strength or speed. This show is unpredictable and intense, and for me, it’s about trusting my instincts and letting each moment guide me through the game.”
With a diverse mix of celebrities and creators, The 50 promises a high-pressure, unscripted competition unlike conventional reality formats. The show premieres on February 1, streaming on JioHotstar and airing on Colors.
