The much-anticipated Punjabi comedy Carry On Jatta 4 is gearing up for its worldwide theatrical release on 26 June 2026, bringing back one of the most beloved franchises in Punjabi cinema and promising a blend of timeless humour, nostalgia and heartfelt emotion. The announcement was confirmed by lead star and producer Gippy Grewal, who shared glimpses from the set as the film’s production progressed earlier this year.
Carry On Jatta first debuted in 2012 as a hilarious family entertainer directed by Smeep Kang and written by Naresh Kathooria, starring Gippy Grewal, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Binnu Dhillon, Jaswinder Bhalla and others. Since then, it has grown into a much-loved franchise with sequels that have consistently drawn crowds to cinemas.
The fourth instalment is particularly significant for cast and fans alike. After the passing of veteran comedian Jaswinder Bhalla in August 2025, the team has utilised AI technology respectfully to include his presence in the film as an emotional tribute to his legacy in the series. Leading actor Gurpreet Ghuggi shared an emotional tribute highlighting how Bhalla ji’s spirit continues to inspire the cast and crew, earning heartfelt reactions from fans online. Ghuggi emotionally stated, “AI di madad naal mahroom Jaswinder Bhalla Ji kamm kar rahe ne saade naal.”
Alongside Grewal, Ghuggi and Dhillon, the film also features Sargun Mehta, Karamjit Anmol and other familiar faces from the franchise. Early set photos and promotional material emphasise the vibe of laughter, friendship and family chaos that has always been the hallmark of Carry On Jatta.
With its release scheduled in cinemas worldwide, including key international Punjabi markets such as the UK, Canada and Australia, Carry On Jatta 4 aims to honour its legacy while entertaining audiences.
