The Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF), the charitable arm of Yash Raj Films, has officially announced the launch of its Saathi Program 2026 — a comprehensive, year-long welfare initiative aimed at supporting film industry workers and their families.

Unlike short-term aid measures, the Saathi Program has been structured to provide continuous assistance throughout the year. The initiative seeks to address essential needs and significantly improve the overall quality of life for the many behind-the-scenes workers who form the backbone of the film industry.

The program’s eligibility criteria include active film industry workers who are registered with recognised unions, individuals from low-income households, families with children currently attending school or college, and senior workers managing ongoing health and medical concerns.

In 2026, the Saathi Program will extend its benefits to registered film industry workers and their families across several critical areas.

The initiative focuses on monthly household assistance to strengthen food security, healthcare support that includes access to medicines and diagnostic services, educational aid to help children meet their academic and schooling requirements, and essential travel support such as annual visits to their hometowns.

A special focus has been placed on retired film workers aged 60 and above, as well as persons with disabilities. Recognising their higher medical needs and limited earning opportunities, the program prioritises tailored assistance for these vulnerable groups.

Saathi Program 2026 also introduces several key enhancements to ensure more effective and accessible support. These include increased annual assistance allocations per beneficiary, flexible benefit structures that can be customised according to individual needs, expanded healthcare prioritisation for diagnostics and treatment access, and simplified digital delivery systems designed to improve accessibility while reducing procedural barriers.

On the cinematic front, Yash Raj Films recently released Mardaani 3 starring Rani Mukerji. The studio also has an exciting slate ahead, including Alpha, headlined by Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh.
