Who is Sakshi Khanna?

Most film lovers know about Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khanna, both respected in their own right.

But tucked quietly away from the spotlight is another sibling — the youngest in the family, Sakshi Khanna, someone many are only now beginning to discover.

Who Is Sakshi Khanna?

Born on 12 May 1991 to iconic actor Vinod Khanna and his second wife Kavita Khanna, Sakshi Khanna grew up in an environment closely tied to cinema, yet he was never defined by it.

He shares warm bonds with his brothers Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khanna, as well as his sister Shraddha Khanna, though his path in life has always leaned more inward and contemplative than outwardly glamorous.

While the influence of a celebrated film family naturally nudged him towards cinema, Sakshi Khanna chose to begin behind the scenes.

He worked as an assistant director on major projects, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s lavish Bajirao Mastani and Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara.

These experiences allowed him to observe filmmaking up close — its intensity, its creativity and its discipline.

Eventually, Sakshi Khanna stepped in front of the camera as well, dabbling in independent films and short cinematic experiments that suited his artistic temperament more than conventional Bollywood stardom ever could.

According to The Indian Express, he was expected to make his Bollywood debut under the direction of Milan Luthria, but the project did not materialise.

At the time, Milan Luthria had expressed confidence in him, saying, "Sakshi is immensely talented, and the role is complex. So there is a lot of homework that he requires to do over the next few months."
