Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal recently shared a photo of homemade panjiri on his Instagram stories, giving fans a touching glimpse into his life.

The traditional Punjabi dish, often prepared for new mothers to aid strength and recovery after delivery, immediately sparked speculation online, with many assuming it was lovingly made for Katrina Kaif, who is reportedly embracing motherhood.

The photo featured a bowl of freshly prepared panjiri with a spoon resting inside, along with a heart doodle and the Punjabi word "ਪੰਜοਬੀ," emphasising its cosy and cultural touch.

In many North Indian homes especially in Punjab, panjiri, which is made with nourishing ingredients like ghee, dry fruits, and edible gum, is a mainstay, particularly in the postpartum phase.

Speaking about fatherhood, Vicky Kaushal has opened up about how emotionally overwhelming it has been. Leaving his newborn at home while travelling for work, he admitted, has been particularly difficult.

During the recent NDTV Indian of the Year 2025 awards in Delhi, where he received the Actor of the Year award for his performance as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava, he reflected on this new chapter in his life

“Thank you, this is for my family and my little one who has come in as a blessing… Yeh pehli baar hai jo main shehar chhodhke aaya hoon after becoming a father, and it was very tough (This is the first time I’ve left the city after becoming a father, and it was very tough),” he said.

Vicky Kaushal described fatherhood as magical and blissful, admitting that words fall short when trying to capture the experience. “It is too new to feel any challenges. It's all magical right now. It's all very blissful right now… I don’t know main shabdon mein nahi baiyan kar sakta ke kya feeling hai (I can’t describe the feeling in words),” he said, adding, “There are all sorts of objectives that I can say, but it's just a very special feeling, and, truly God has been very kind. The family is very happy, and this one is for my entire family and especially for him.”

In a candidly humorous moment, he also joked that he is now “better at changing diapers than acting.” Since tying the knot with Katrina Kaif on December 9, 2021, in an intimate Rajasthan ceremony, Vicky Kaushal’s life has transformed into one filled with family, love, and the joys and challenges of fatherhood.
