Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta’s Vadh 2 hit theatres on February 6, clashing at the box office with Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! – Fun on the Run, as both films arrived on the same day. The simultaneous release set the stage for a modest box office face-off, with neither film managing a strong opening.
Among the two, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! – Fun on the Run registered a slower start. The film reportedly earned around Rs 25 lakh on its opening day, which is nearly half of what Vadh 2 collected.
Trade estimates suggest that Vadh 2, starring Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, earned about Rs 50 lakh on its first day. Although made on a controlled budget, the film's opening numbers show a slow start at the box office.
In terms of attendance, Vadh 2 had an overall Hindi occupancy of 7.15% on Friday, February 6, 2026. The film began its theatrical run with morning shows at 4.34% occupancy. This improved gradually during the afternoon to 6.85%. Evening shows followed a similar pattern, recording 6.72% occupancy, indicating a modest turnout throughout the day.
In contrast, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! – Fun on the Run saw an overall Hindi occupancy of 5.87% on its opening day.
The film opened with 5.10% occupancy during morning shows, followed by a slight uptick to 5.52% in the afternoon. Evening shows, however, dipped marginally to 5.04%, indicating a largely steady but limited audience presence throughout the day.
Overall, the audience response to both films remained average, with lukewarm reactions reported on their first day of release. Neither title managed to generate significant buzz or strong footfalls during opening day screenings.
Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! – Fun on the Run is based on the popular television sitcom of the same name. The film adapts the show’s core storyline into a road-trip adventure format, where Vibhuti Narayan Mishra (played by Aasif Sheikh) and Manmohan Tiwari (played by Rohitashv Gour) continue their long-running obsession with each other’s wives, setting the stage for situational comedy.
Meanwhile, Vadh 2, produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under the banner of Luv Films, features Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in the lead roles. The sequel also boasts an expanded ensemble cast that includes Kumud Mishra and Shilpa Shukla, along with new additions such as Amitt K Singh, Akshay Dogra and Yogita Bihani.
