The makers of Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda, unveiled the final trailer on Friday, December 19. With just a few days left for the film’s release, the makers shared the trailer, which also marks the final appearance of the late veteran actor Dharmendra. His son, Sunny Deol, took to social media to pay a heartfelt tribute to his father.
Taking to his Instagram on Friday, Sunny Deol shared the trailer of Ikkis along with an emotional note for Dharmendra, remembering and admiring his late father after watching the trailer.
He captioned it, "Love you papa. Witness the true story of the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, a hero who was only 21 and became eternal -Second Lt. Arun Khetarpal. #Ikkis In cinemas on 1st Jan 2026."
Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, made a valiant sacrifice during the 1971 war, which is depicted in the trailer for Ikkis. The 2-minute-11-second trailer, which stars Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra in key roles, is full of dramatic tank encounters, intense battlefield action, touching family moments, and an engrossing true story of bravery.
As Arun's father, Dharmendra gives a poignant performance that conveys both pride and suffering. The trailer concludes on an emotional note with his impactful line, “Yeh meri family hai, chota beta Mukesh 50 saal ka hai aur yeh bada beta Arun yeh hamesha ikkis ka hi rahega.”
Ikkis will mark Dharmendra’s final appearance on the big screen. The legendary actor passed away on the same day the makers released his character poster. They captioned the post, “Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier. One timeless legend brings us the story of another. #IkkisTrailerOutNow Ikkis in cinemas worldwide on 25th December 2025.”
The film stars Agastya Nanda as Arun Khetarpal, the heroic soldier martyred at 21 during the 1971 Battle of Basantar in the Indo-Pak war. The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher.
Initially scheduled for a December 2025 release, Ikkis has now been postponed and will hit theatres on January 1, 2026.
