Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar, both celebrated for their contributions to Indian cinema and television, have been married since 1985. Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar's relationship began on the sets of the 1984 Marathi film Navri Mile Navryala, which marked Sachin's directorial debut and Supriya's first acting role. Sachin’s mother originally discovered Supriya after seeing her perform in a Doordarshan program and suggested her for the lead role.

Despite an age gap of ten years—Sachin was 27 and Supriya was 17—their connection deepened during filming.
