Music has a way of revealing truth, and for The Bads of Bollywood, it became the emotional heartbeat of the show.
Composer and producer Shashwat Sachdev recently opened up about the moments behind the soundtrack — moments that felt less like work and more like something deeply personal and almost spiritual.
One such moment involved singer Jubin Nautiyal and a song that quietly found its way straight to Shah Rukh Khan’s heart.
When Aryan Khan and Shashwat Sachdev played the track for Shah Rukh Khan, his reaction was immediate and heartfelt. He loved the song so much that he asked for Jubin Nautiyal’s phone number on the spot, wanting to call him right away.
Revisiting that memory, Shashwat Sachdev shared, "I remember when Jubin sang that song, i was looking at him, both of us were looking at each other, and I had tears in my eyes and we kept singng and we finished the session and we sent it to Aryan and Aryan sent it to Shah Rukh sir and then sir called and said yeh kitna sundar gaaya hai. Mekko Jubin ka number bhejo i want to call him right now and we felt that energy the night before and I felt it I know and before that it was me singing that melody on a guitar or a piano and then it became that song. and then you see that on picture it sees more cinemativc and epic you know."
That same emotional honesty runs through the DNA of The Bads of Bollywood, which has now claimed the top spot on IMDb’s list of the most popular Indian shows of 2025. For creator Aryan Khan, the overwhelming response feels like validation of a bold creative risk.
Sharing his thoughts, Aryan Khan said, "Seeing The Bads of Bollywood as the most popular web series on IMDb feels exactly like what we wanted to do — shake the room and own the conversation, to make something that defines an entire genre in the modern era; a pop cultural phenomenon…" He added, "I am grateful to everyone who clicked play, stayed with it, and made it explode the way it has… And this is just the beginning.”
What makes the series so compelling is its raw, unfiltered look at Bollywood’s inner world — the ambition, the chaos, the politics and the emotional toll that comes with chasing a dream. Through Aasmaan Singh, played by Lakshya Lalwani, viewers witness how intoxicating and unforgiving the industry can be.
Surprise cameos from Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Karan Johar added an extra thrill, grounding the fictional world in reality.
Created by Aryan Khan and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, The Bads of Bollywood has evolved from a buzzy Netflix release on 18 September 2025 into a global conversation.
