Actress Saumya Tandon, who was recently seen in Dhurandhar playing Akshaye Khanna’s wife, has shared an interesting behind-the-scenes detail about one of the film’s most impactful scenes featuring the two actors.
A particularly moving exchange between Saumya Tandon and Akshaye Khanna, in which her character confronts her husband after a terrible personal tragedy, is one of the many scenes that have struck a chord with viewers. Viewers have focused especially on the scene's intensity.
In order to maintain the rawness and authenticity of the scene, Saumya has now disclosed that the forceful slap depicted in the movie was shot in a single take.
Taking to her X handle, Saumya shared pictures from her entry scene in the film and opened up about what the sequence meant to her. She wrote, "1. This was my entry scene in the film, and the amount of love it has received has truly overwhelmed me. In this scene, I felt everything at once- anger towards my husband for being the reason behind our son’s death, helpless desperation, and the deep, shared pain between us. And yes, I slapped Akshay once-for real- during his close-up, after Aditya insisted it had to be authentic. I was hoping to cheat, but no such luck. My breakdown close-up was done in a single take."
