Salman Khan’s 60th birthday was not just a celebration of an actor’s milestone.

Cancer care advocate Viji Venkatesh took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on Salman Khan’s unwavering support for those battling the disease and the deeply personal moments that made his generosity unforgettable.

Viji Venkatesh recalled their first meeting on 17 November 2010 at Tata Hospital, a moment that left a lasting impression. “It’s hard to introduce someone like Salman without sounding clichéd, but the truth has to be told,” she wrote.

She remembered how Salman handed her his personal phone number, telling her she could call anytime someone needed help—a promise he honoured over the years.

From speaking with a 12-year-old girl undergoing chemotherapy, who is now a healthy 27-year-old preparing for public administration exams, to visiting children at KEM Hospital after cancelling shoots, his support was always heartfelt and immediate.

She shared several touching stories: Salman reaching out whenever he heard of someone struggling with cancer, whether a friend’s relative, a former studio worker, or a neighbour; removing his gold earring to be delivered to a boy with bone cancer in Meerut; arranging for his brothers to undergo bone marrow testing for a young girl; and even welcoming a child from Indore into his home to ensure they felt special.

Viji concluded, “He is my friend in cancer care for many years,” signing off with, “Happy 60th dear Salman! Jag ghumeya thaare jaisa na koi. (No one like you in this world).”

Salman Khan celebrated his 60th in Panvel with an intimate, star-studded gathering that reflected his close bonds rather than extravagant fanfare.

Guests included M S Dhoni, Riteish Deshmukh, and Ram Charan, alongside his siblings and family. Rather than glitz and glamour, the evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and a quiet cake-cutting ceremony—moments that highlighted the actor’s grounded nature and the warmth he shares with those around him.
