Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, celebrated not only for his flamboyant action spectacles but also for his enviable automobile collection, has added another showstopper to his already impressive garage.
The director has brought home a GMC Hummer EV, an all-electric powerhouse priced at over Rs 4.57 crore in India. This makes it one of the most expensive and eye-catching vehicles owned by a Bollywood filmmaker.
With its bold, boxy shape and impressive road presence, the GMC Hummer EV grabs attention wherever it goes. The SUV’s larger-than-life persona suits Shetty well. His films have always embraced excess, scale, and boldness.
The GMC Hummer EV has already started turning heads in India, even though it hasn't officially launched through a GMC dealership. Instead, specialist dealers are importing fully built units, complete with right-hand-drive modifications and all necessary legal clearances.
This approach has made the electric SUV one of the most exclusive EVs available on Indian roads.
Its high price in India results mainly from high import duties, conversion costs, and its premium status. Ex-showroom prices typically range from Rs 3.50 crore to Rs 3.85 crore for the top-spec 3X variant after customs and duties. On-road prices often exceed Rs 4 crore in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Pune.
Earlier estimates suggested a wider price range starting at around Rs 1.80 crore and going up to Rs 3.85 crore, depending on the variant. However, the higher end reflects the fully loaded imported versions commonly seen in the country today.
Rohit Shetty’s passion for cars is well known. Whether it is flaunting his prized vehicles on social media or incorporating high-octane vehicular stunts into his films, the filmmaker’s love for powerful machines has often found its way into his creative expression, making the addition of the GMC Hummer EV a fitting extension of both his personal style and cinematic identity.
