Actor Rhea Chakraborty's life seemed to be gradually returning to normal following years of a difficult time. The actress is now prepared to resume her acting career, nearly seven years after Sushant Singh Rajput's death altered her entire life.
Rhea was present at the ‘Next On Netflix’ event in Mumbai on Tuesday night, where it was revealed that Rhea would soon appear in a new series called Family Business.
The series, which is scheduled for release later this year, also has Vijay Varma and Anil Kapoor in prominent parts.
Rhea also shared a short teaser from the series on her Instagram Stories. Sharing the teaser, she penned in the caption, "7 years later...."
The preview shows Vijay Varma as a dedicated and hardworking employee, while Anil Kapoor is the CEO of a multibillion-dollar company. The story takes a sharp turn when Kapoor fires Varma, and an internal power struggle ensues. The struggle between family and business is the central premise of the series.
The release date of the series is still unknown.
Meanwhile, the teaser has sparked curiosity among the fans, with some of the social media users comparing the series with Succession. However, series co-creator Hansal Mehta has slammed the comparison and called Family Business ‘its own beast’.
Following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020, Rhea's life changed drastically. In September of that year, the actress was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau after contacts with alleged drug dealers were found on her phone. She was granted bail shortly after.
In the years that followed, Rhea refrained from acting. She also started a podcast and appeared as a gang boss on MTV Roadies. With Family Business, she is now ready to resume her acting career.
