Bollywood filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has addressed swirling rumours about casting in the highly anticipated superhero film Krrish 4, firmly denying reports that actor Rajat Bedi would feature as the film’s antagonist. The clarification comes after months of online speculation following Bedi’s recent comeback to acting, with fans and media outlets linking him to a potential villainous role in the fourth instalment of the iconic franchise.
In an interaction with HT City, Rakesh said, “The news of Rajat Bedi acting in Krrish 4 is all false. There is no truth to any rumours.”
The speculation initially built momentum after Rajat Bedi’s performance in the Netflix series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, which marked his return to the screen after several years. Bedi’s previous association with the Krrish universe through a grey character role in the 2003 film Koi… Mil Gaya — the movie that laid the foundation for the Krrish franchise — also added fuel to the rumours.
Despite the buzz, Roshan made it clear that the actor is not part of the villain lineup for Krrish 4. The confirmation helps set clearer expectations as the project moves forward. Krrish 4 is shaping up to be a significant chapter not only for the franchise but also for the star Hrithik Roshan, who is set to make his directorial debut with the film. Previously helmed by Rakesh in earlier instalments, the beloved superhero series is now passing creative leadership to the next generation.
Currently in pre-production, Krrish 4 is expected to begin filming in early 2026, with fans eagerly awaiting official announcements on its cast and narrative direction. The franchise, a cultural touchstone in Indian cinema since the original Koi… Mil Gaya, continues to command anticipation for its mix of superhero thrills and emotional storytelling.
