Actress Mrunal Thakur has finally chosen to address the rumours swirling around her personal life for quite a time now.
She spoke about rumours of her dating Dhanush, making it clear that the stories have no truth to them. Rather than getting upset, Mrunal Thakur calmly explained that her admiration for Dhanush comes purely from being a fan of his work.
While promoting her film Do Deewane Seher Mein, Mrunal Thakur spoke candidly about how much she respects Dhanush as an artiste. She did not shy away from praising his versatility and dedication to cinema. “After watching Raayan, Maari, Raanjhanaa, Captain Miller and Asuran, I am a big, big fan of him. I can watch Asuran multiple times. He is such an institution,” she said, clearly impressed by his craft. “He’s a lyricist, writer, dancer, actor, director, what not.”
She even recalled inviting Dhanush to a screening of Son Of Sardaar 2 while he was busy shooting for Tere Ishk Mein. “I just asked him, ‘Sir, can you please come for the screening?’ I didn’t expect him to show up. When he did, I was so happy,” she shared. “I truly wish to work with him one day.”
The gossip gained momentum after Mrunal Thakur was seen warmly greeting Dhanush at the premiere of Son Of Sardaar 2 in August 2025.
A simple public interaction quickly turned into exaggerated claims, including whispers of an impending wedding. Laughing at the absurdity of it all, Mrunal Thakur told Hindustan Times, “Woh toh shaadi ho rahi hai, according to them,” making it obvious that the rumours were baseless.
At present, Mrunal Thakur is focused on her work. She stars opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi in Do Deewane Seher Mein, which has just released in theatres.
