
Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 hit the theatres on Friday, January 30, with mixed reviews from the critics. The film is performing well so far at the box office.
According to a trade website, Mardaani 3 collected Rs 6 crore net in India on Saturday, the second day of its release, taking its total collection to Rs 10 crore net in India. The third instalment in the franchise registered 27.51% Hindi occupancy with 10.64% footfall during morning, 24.56% in the afternoon, 31.88% in the evening and 42.96% in the night shows.
The movie's performance has varied by location across the nation. Pune had the highest occupancy rate overall (34.67%), followed by Mumbai (30.33%) and Kolkata (26.33%). While smaller markets like Surat experienced low turnout at 6.33%, the National Capital Region (NCR) achieved a strong 25.33%.
While nighttime shows were the most popular, with attendance peaking at 44% in Pune, 39% in Mumbai, and 45% in Kolkata, morning shows often had the lowest attendance, ranging from 3% in Surat to 19% in Pune. While night shows were mostly empty throughout all regions, afternoon shows experienced moderate occupancy. NCR topped the scale with 535 shows, followed by Bengaluru (223) and Mumbai (414), indicating high demand and extensive distribution in important metropolitan areas.

Directed by Abhiraj Minwala, the film is backed by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner and written by Aayush Gupta. Because it falls on Rani Mukerji's 30th anniversary in Indian cinema, the release is very noteworthy.
Starring Janki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad, the movie is the third entry in the Mardaani series, after Mardaani (2014) and Mardaani 2 (2019).
