Actress Manushi Chhillar has recently hopped in for the ‘2026 is the new 2016’ social media trend. The actress shared several throwback pictures, which also included her 2016 medical college report card.
Manushi had a really special year in 2016 because she was preparing for Miss India after being scouted for the competition at AIIMS and juggling her MBBS courses.
She booked her first campaign and received her first posting in surgery while continuously balancing her two careers.
Sharing the pictures from 10 years ago, Manushi penned in the caption, “#2016 A year I played Hannah Montana juggling between college and my first few shoots after being scouted by Miss India at AIIMS, New Delhi.”
Recalling the moments from 2016, Manushi continued, “Clicked my first few pics for the entry form on a Saturday after my classes. Booked my first campaign for Bose and then the rest followed. Realised biochemistry doesn’t run in the genes (sorry mom) but the rest does (high5 dad!).”
She further added, “My first clinical posting was in general surgery, one of us fainted that day (promise it wasn’t me). Joined Instagram for Miss India as a “one time thing” and here we are a decade later.”
After a lengthy 17-year hiatus, Manushi went on to win the title of Femina Miss India World 2017, making history as the sixth Indian to be elected Miss World. Priyanka Chopra won the championship in 2000 before her.
Later, Manushi decided to enter the Bollywood film industry, and she debuted alongside Akshay Kumar in Samrat Prithviraj in 2022. In the historical drama, she played Sanyogita.
