Mannara Chopra has opened up about her evolving bond with her cousin sister Priyanka Chopra Jonas. In a recent interview with Filmygyaan, Mannara spoke candidly about how her relationship with Priyanka has deepened over the years, especially in the last two years.

When asked whether she considers Priyanka her godmother, Mannara said, “She is my sister, I would say.” Recalling Priyanka’s recent visit to India, Mannara shared how comforting it feels to be around her. “Recently, she was visiting India so I went to meet her. You just take your heart out and you can tell her what you are feeling right now. So, she is like that calming factor who doesn’t have that thing where she will solve everything for you, but she will guide you in a way which is so proper.”

Mannara highlighted Priyanka’s ability to offer perspective rather than quick solutions. “You think about yourself that why didn’t I think like this. She guides me very nicely as a sister,” she added. The actress admitted that being around Priyanka now makes her more emotional than before. “I feel very emotional whenever I am around her, past two years especially. When I used to meet her earlier, it was mostly fun, chirpy, just giggling, now I am always hugging her.”

Mannara went on to reveal that she has noticed an internal shift in their relationship. “There’s some kind of change which is internally there within me. That shift is taking place and I don’t know why,” she said, adding, “I feel that whenever I am too emotional or something and I see her, I am always like ‘Ek jaadu ki jhappi’ (a magical hug). Of course, then you move on with your life and carry forward with your work.”

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ daughter Malti Marie, born in 2022 and raised in the United States, often delights fans whenever glimpses of her surface online. Last year, a video of Malti speaking Hindi went viral. Addressing this, Mannara clarified that while Malti has picked up a few Hindi words, she is very much a “proper LA baby.”

Speaking about Malti Marie and her language skills, Mannara shared, “She communicates properly in English. Of course, she has picked up a few words of Hindi.”
