Kangana Ranaut starrer Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is inspired by Cama Hospital attack during 26/11: Report

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut is currently gearing up for her upcoming film called Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata.

As per reports by Variety India, the film will focus on the terrifying incident that unfolded at the hospital during the attacks.

The plot of the film is also set to highlight the immense courage and bravery portrayed by the hospital staff members during the entire crisis and what unfolded next.

Kangana is reportedly set to play the role of a staff nurse in the film. Through her character, the story aims to shed light on the dedication and courage of individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes, especially in moments of danger and uncertainty.

The events depicted in the film are connected to the attacks that took place on November 26, 2008, when terrorists Ajmal Kasab and Ismail Khan entered the hospital premises while carrying out coordinated attacks across Mumbai.

During the assault, the attackers killed security guards and injured hospital staff as they attempted to take control of the building while moving through the city targeting several locations, including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and the Oberoi Trident Hotel.

Directed by Manoj Tapadia, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata's filming is complete and its presently under post-production.

Kangana had announced the film in 2024 along with a post that read, “Experience the magic of real-life heroism on the big screen! Ecstatic to announce Bharat Bhhagya Viddhata, a cinematic tribute to the unsung heroes, with talented producer duo Babita Ashiwal & Adi Sharmaa, and visionary director-writer Manoj Tapadia. Eunoia films and Floating rocks Entertainnment sets out on their maiden venture with Bharat Bhhagya Viddhata. #BharatBhhagyaViddhata promises to resonate deeply with audiences, inspiring a sense of hope, courage, and resilience."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana was last seen in the film Emergency that released last year. It was based on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and although the film did not perform very well at the box office, Kanaga received widespread acclaim for her performance in the movie.
