Junglee Pictures has officially joined hands with celebrated filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta for an ambitious tentpole theatrical project, bringing together two creative forces known for crafting powerful, rooted stories that strike a chord with audiences at scale. The yet-untitled film will be directed by Gupta and is positioned as a high-impact cinematic experience.

Raj Kumar Gupta, widely recognised for his acclaimed and commercially successful films such as Raid, Raid 2, No One Killed Jessica and Aamir, has established a distinct voice in Indian cinema. His storytelling is marked by realism, sharp socio-political observation and emotionally charged drama, all wrapped in mass-appeal entertainment. Fresh off the success of Raid 2, which emerged as one of the top 10 highest-grossing theatrical films of 2025, Gupta continues to balance authenticity with strong box-office pull — a sensibility that aligns closely with Junglee Pictures’ creative vision.

Over the years, Junglee Pictures has built a robust and respected filmography by championing meaningful, disruptive narratives across genres. The studio’s slate includes blockbuster and critically acclaimed titles such as Raazi, Badhaai Ho, Talvar, Badhaai Do and Bareilly Ki Barfi. More recently, its 2025 releases Haq and the Malayalam film Ronth earned widespread appreciation during both their theatrical and streaming runs, further strengthening the studio’s reputation for content-driven cinema.

The upcoming film has already completed its scripting stage, with casting expected to commence shortly. While plot details remain tightly guarded, the project is said to promise an intense and gripping narrative that reflects Gupta’s signature style while pushing creative boundaries in scale and impact.

Speaking about the collaboration, Vineet Jain, MD of The Times Group, said Junglee Pictures remains committed to backing distinctive stories with cultural relevance, adding that this partnership reflects the studio’s focus on purposeful, audience-driven cinema. Gupta echoed the sentiment, describing the film as a hard-hitting and immersive theatrical experience, and calling the collaboration a natural creative fit. Producing partner Myra Karn also expressed excitement, noting that the union brings together bold vision and fearless storytelling.

Further details are expected to be announced in the coming months.
