Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan showered praises on comedian-actor Vir Das for his directorial debut, Happy Patel. He applauded the movie for its inventive take on the spy comedy genre.
Hrithik Roshan, who has himself played the role of a spy in his earlier films War and War 2, took to social media to share his appreciation for the caper comedy. He gave Vir Das a resounding vote of confidence as a filmmaker.
Sharing his reaction, Hrithik wrote on his Instagram, “Very very entertained by Happy Patel. Congrats Vir. The ingenuity of mixing incredible silliness with a relentless screenplay was so much fun to watch!”
Happy Patel was Vir Das’ first outing as a director and it showcases a playful blend of absurd humour and fast-paced storytelling. The film has been drawing attention for its unconventional tone and fresh approach to the genre, with industry voices now joining audiences in praising the movie.
Moneycontrol's Abhishek Srivastava wrote in his review that 'Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’ arrives with a strange kind of confidence, fully aware that it is not meant to please everyone. It has a sharp, awkward edge that can make you squirm one moment and laugh loudly the next.
In the review , he further wrote that the 'Indian audiences are rarely offered a film this fearless, and it seems to enjoy pushing buttons without apology.'
‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos,’ directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri, released in theatres on 16 January and stars Vir Das, Mithila Palkar, Sharib Hashmi, Mona Singh, Srushti Tawade, Imran Khan, and Aamir Khan.
Hrithik Roshan is soon going to be seen in Krrish 4, which will also be his directorial debut and it is set for a tentative 2027 release.
Plus he also has an untitled Hombale Films project which is in its pre-production stage, it will potentially be a TV series called Storm. Rumours also suggest a Kaabil 2 sequel is also being considered.
