Actor Govinda’s manager has stepped forward to clear the air around reports of an alleged attack involving the veteran star, strongly refuting rumours that suggest criminal intent or legal trouble.
Amid rising speculation and online chatter, Govinda’s manager stressed that the situation has been misunderstood and appealed for calm and restraint.
Speaking about the incident, he explained that it occurred late at night, around 3–3.30 am, when a group of unknown individuals allegedly gathered near Govinda’s residence.
According to him, the moment was unsettling and could have taken a serious turn had the actor not acted quickly to ensure his own safety. He emphasised that Govinda did nothing wrong and that his response was purely instinctive, driven by concern for personal security.
The manager also pointed out that there was no security arrangement in place at the time, which added to the anxiety of the situation. He suggested that the circumstances could have become far more dangerous, but Govinda managed to handle the moment responsibly and prevent any escalation.
To underline transparency, the manager confirmed that the incident was formally reported to the police and that an official entry has been made at the local police station. He added that video footage and other supporting material are available and can be shared if needed. According to him, this clearly establishes that nothing unlawful occurred.
Addressing the rumours circulating on social media and certain news platforms, the manager expressed disappointment at how the narrative has been distorted. He firmly denied claims portraying Govinda as a criminal or suggesting violent intentions, calling such reports baseless and harmful. He noted that tense or confusing moments can occur in anyone’s life and should not be blown out of proportion.
Those close to the actor, the manager said, are fully aware of the facts and stand by the truth that Govinda has not been involved in any criminal activity. He urged both the media and the public to verify information before spreading panic or fear-driven narratives.
Meanwhile, a day after Govinda was hospitalised following an accidental self-shooting incident, he was questioned by Juhu Police as part of standard procedure. Police sources have indicated that there is no immediate evidence of foul play, though further questioning has not been ruled out.
The Mumbai crime branch has also initiated a parallel inquiry. According to PTI, a team led by senior police inspector Daya Nayak met Govinda at the hospital to understand the sequence of events.
The actor stated that the revolver accidentally fell and discharged, causing a gunshot wound to his leg. At the time of the incident, which took place last year, Govinda was reportedly alone at home.
