Dino Morea reflects on Bobby Deol–Akshaye Khanna wave and Raaz success, claims “I’d have the same craze today”

Dino Morea reflected on how stardom has evolved, saying he would have enjoyed the same craze today if he had played roles like Bobby Deol in Animal or Akshaye Khanna in Dhurandhar. Looking back at the success of Raaz, he noted that word-of-mouth once drove popularity, unlike today’s social media–fuelled fame.

Akshaye Khanna and Bobby Deol have recently received newfound stardom with their recent blockbusters Dhurandhar and Animal. Actor Dino Morea has showered praise on Akshaye and Bobby for their recent performances.

In a conversation with IANS, Dino Morea commended Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna for their recent performances, noting that the internet has increased their viewership and made their work viral like never before.

Bobby Deol's latest Animal debut has audiences enthralled, especially with his signature hook stride and entrance song "Jamal Kudu." After going viral and circulating on social media, the video attracted new fans.

Similarly, Akshaye Khanna's role in Dhurandhar, as well as his stellar dance moves to the hit song FA9LA, broke the internet.

Dino Morea, who has starred with numerous Bollywood celebrities and established himself in movies like Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, Raaz, and Aksar, has also complimented the actor.

He said, “The way Bobby has got his chance to shine in ‘Animal’ and Akshaye in ‘Dhurandhar’ is incredible.”

He also talked about his career and noted how stardom functioned differently during his peak years.

He elaborated, “When I had Raaz as a success or Aksar as a success, there was really no social media. People watched the films in theatres, and that word-of-mouth from the audience carried everything.”

Raaz gained viewers in both urban and rural areas, according to Dino. Talking about the same, he said, “Even today, people associate me with those films, and that’s a beautiful feeling.”

Dino highlighted how digital platforms have changed visibility by drawing comparisons between the past and now.

He added, “Now, you don’t even need to see the film in a theatre. Clips, songs, and moments are everywhere online, spreading faster and wider than ever.”

He feels that the reaction would have been equally explosive if he had made his debut in the modern era in a character similar to Bobby's in Animal or Akshaye's in Dhurandhar.

Dino elaborated, “I would probably have the same craze that they are enjoying today. And I feel fantastic for both of them because they are brilliant.”

Dhurandhar also stars Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt.
