  • Dhurandhar streams on Netflix from January 30, 2026, but is a censored version
  • Fans upset with Netflix for muting dialogues, cutting 10 minutes from the film
  • Viewers disappointed as the 'A' rated film is censored for its OTT release

Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, which made history by breaking several records at the box office since its theatrical release, is now streaming on Netflix, marking its digital premiere on January 30, 2026. However, die-hard fans were shocked to discover that the version available on the OTT platform is censored.

Many viewers who tuned in to watch the film expressed disappointment over one major difference. Fans pointed out that although the film was given an 'A' rating, it was censored for its OTT debut.

Soon after the film began streaming, social media was flooded with criticism and expressions of frustration, with fans accusing the streaming platform of muting dialogues, censoring abusive language, and trimming a total of 10 minutes from the film.

Several users even questioned the logic of censoring an adult film on a platform meant for over-18 audiences, and some key political dialogues have been muted.

This reaction was especially strong given the expectation that content released on OTT platforms would remain uncut for mature viewers.

Taking to X, one user wrote, “You certify the film as A, but you have muted/censored words! Like, are we a bunch of 5y/o or what? Everyone in this app is over 18; there’s no meaning in watching a film with lots of cuts and censoring. You’re just stealing the natural raw vibe from it.” Another user questioned the makers, writing, "Why the abuses are censored?"

Another fan wrote, "Damn was hoping for an uncut version this has muted the cursed words same as the theatre one." A different user expressed their frustration, stating, “noooooo #Dhurandhar on Netflix still has the gaalis censored! bhai what is the point of releasing on OTT if you censor the best parts."

One follower criticised Netflix directly, writing, "Netflix has fucked up the watching experience of Dhurandhar. They are censoring an A rated movie on OTT, by muting dialogues, trimmed 10 mins of footage from theatrical release. Shame on you @NetflixIndia. Even ANIMAL is uncensored on Netflix, What's the problem with DHURANDHAR?"

Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal. The film follows a high-stakes spy mission orchestrated by India’s Intelligence Bureau. Its sequel, Dhurandhar 2, is set to release on March 19, 2026.
