The much awaited teaser of director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2 starring Ranveer Singh was finally released today (February 3) after a long wait.  The teaser, which features Ranveer Singh as Hamza, arrives with the weight of enormous expectations after the record-breaking success of the first film.

Dhurandhar, which released on December 5, 2025, was not only a massive success but also broke and created many records at the box office.

The second part is titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge and its teaser makes it clear that the story is about to enter a far darker and more dangerous territory.

The teaser gives viewers an unsettling but fascinating look at Ranveer Singh’s journey as Jaskirat Singh Rangi slowly becomes Hamza, a transformation that feels both tragic and terrifying.

It leaves behind a trail of unanswered questions, hinting at the moments and decisions that push him to step into the shadows and infiltrate some of the most feared criminal gangs.

As he walks this dangerous line, he risks everything — driven by a need for revenge, yet anchored by his loyalty to his country. This deeply personal backstory sits at the very heart of Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

There is something chilling about watching a man shed his former self, and the teaser only heightens curiosity about the pain, loss and circumstances that shaped him into Hamza. It leaves audiences eager to understand not just what he becomes, but why.

The teaser ends with Ranveer Singh saying "Yeh Naya Hindustan Hai, Yeh Ghar Main Ghusega Bhi, Aur Maarega Bhi"

Backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has already carved out its place in cinema history, shattering box-office records and continuing its celebrated run in theatres — a success that makes the next chapter feel all the more personal and powerful.

Earlier today, the makers also unveiled the first poster of the sequel, featuring Ranveer Singh in a striking and unsettling avatar.

He is seen standing in a long black leather coat, blood-soaked and unflinching, staring straight into the camera with raw rage. The image alone sets the tone for what lies ahead — brutal, intense and unforgiving.

From the moment Ranveer Singh appears in the teaser, he completely owns the screen. The restraint seen in the first film is gone, replaced by a character who feels hardened, volatile and relentlessly driven.

With his hair loose, eyes burning with purpose and his silhouette cutting sharply against blazing red backdrops, he looks like a man who has crossed a moral point of no return. This chapter is no longer about survival or duty — it is about reckoning.

The teaser offers brief but powerful glimpses of a larger, more complex landscape. Shadowy figures in positions of authority, heavily guarded rooms, intelligence briefings and militarised visuals hint at a deeper political and institutional machinery at work.

While Aditya Dhar keeps the narrative deliberately cryptic, it is clear that the sequel moves beyond personal revenge, exploring themes of state power, covert warfare and moral compromise.

Dhurandhar's box office records

The first Dhurandhar released in theatres on December 5 and went on to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, earning over Rs 1,300 crore worldwide.

Although its dubbed versions did not receive a theatrical release, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will arrive in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam alongside Hindi, signalling the franchise’s truly pan-India ambitions.

The sequel continues the story of Hamza Ali Mazhari, an Indian intelligence operative working deep within Pakistan’s criminal ecosystem.

In the first movie, Hamza destroys important terror networks, kills Rehman Dakait, and becomes close to influential political figures like Jameel Jamali.

His cover is further strengthened by his marriage to Yalina, Jamali's daughter. With Hamza allegedly targeting Major Iqbal, also known as Bade Sahab, a potent ISI strategist thought to be responsible for several attacks against India, the conflict is predicted to intensify considerably this time. It is still very secret who is playing Bade Sahab.

Although there has been no official confirmation, AI-generated images recently went viral that purportedly claimed Salman Khan would play Bade Sahab, reportedly inspired by Dawood Ibrahim, adding to the intrigue.

Fueling anticipation further, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is set for a major box-office clash with Yash-starrer Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. With two massive films arriving on the same day, the battle for screens and audience attention is shaping up to be one of the biggest cinematic showdowns of the year.
