  • Advance bookings cross 35,000 tickets at national cinema chains
  • Film releases worldwide on March 19, 2026

The excitement around Dhurandhar 2 is no longer just hype, it has translated into real numbers at the box office. Even before hitting theatres, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has triggered an extraordinary wave of advance bookings, leaving trade experts pleasantly surprised.

Bookings for the Aditya Dhar directorial opened on Saturday morning shortly after the trailer launch, and within just two hours, tickets worth Rs. 4 crore had reportedly been sold across the country. For a film yet to release, that kind of response reflects the sheer anticipation among audiences.

Fans appear eager to secure their seats early. As per a trading website, on BookMyShow, ticket sales reportedly crossed 10,000 per hour during the opening window. Across national cinema chains — PVR, INOX and Cinepolis — advance sales have already crossed 35,000 tickets and continue to climb steadily.

At present, 3,979 shows have been scheduled across India. Around 26 shows have already sold out, while more than 30 are close to full capacity. Delhi-NCR is currently leading the pre-sales chart, with Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad also showing strong demand.

As per the same report, trade analysts believe Dhurandhar 2 could achieve a rare milestone — potentially becoming the first film to organically sell over one lakh tickets within 24 hours of bookings opening at national chains.

While several films in the past have posted high advance figures through bulk corporate bookings or fan-driven shows, this surge appears to be driven by regular moviegoers.

The buzz is understandable. The first Dhurandhar (2025) went on to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time, raising expectations for the sequel.

With its intense trailer and promise of larger-than-life action, the follow-up seems to have struck a chord with fans.

Early projections suggest the film could collect nearly Rs. 20 crore from paid previews alone. If the momentum continues once full-day bookings open nationwide, industry watchers are already discussing the possibility of a Rs. 100 crore opening day.

Written and helmed by Aditya Dhar, the forthcoming sequel to the spy action thriller stars Ranveer Singh in the role of spy Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi.

The film also features Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam, Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, R. Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, Sara Arjun as Yalina Jamali, and Rakesh Bedi in key roles.

While the makers have kept the official storyline tightly under wraps, reports suggest that Dhurandhar 2 will continue to trace Hamza Ali Mazari’s mission to dismantle Pakistan’s crime network, with his focus set firmly on the elusive Major Ibollqbal.

As the narrative progresses, the film is also expected to delve deeper into Hamza’s past and the events that shaped his transformation.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026.
