Actor Medha Rana, who is seen in the war drama Border 2, recently spoke about how she deals with online trolling and criticism. In an interview with India Today, Medha shared that she has learned to stay focused on her work and not let social media negativity affect her, adding that “you simply can’t please everybody.”
Talking about the constant scrutiny actors face online, Medha said that criticism is unavoidable, especially in today’s digital age. “I completely agree with what Varun said recently, that he believes in letting the work do the talking. I come from the same school of thought. There is always going to be noise and chatter around whatever you choose to do, no matter what level you are at or how big the project is. There will always be people who like it and people who don’t; you simply can’t please everybody. That’s a fact of life,” she said.
Medha admitted that while negative comments can sting at times, especially when one is starting out, she is slowly learning not to take them personally. “I think it’s wise to cut out the noise, focus on your work, and let it speak for itself. I’m very much on the same page as him, and I’m also learning from him, how to take things in your stride, come out stronger, and just let the work do the talking,” she added.
However, the actor did admit that social media negativity does affect her at times.
“I wouldn’t lie, social media noise does affect me. We live in a time where social media has become very important, especially in the industry we’re in. Our presence matters to an extent, and there are good, bad, negative, and ugly things written about people. These things do leave an impression, especially on someone who is new to the industry,” she said.

The actor also spoke warmly about working with Varun Dhawan, crediting him for making her feel comfortable on set.“I think Varun was very instrumental in my performance. I was quite intimidated in the beginning, but Varun, being Varun, he instantly made me feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera during our scenes together. That really helped me perform to the best of my ability.”
Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, features a strong ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in key roles.
