Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi are one of the most adored couples in Bollywood, even after 40 years of their married life. The couple often give fans a sneak peek into their daily lives through their immensely popular family vlogs. In a recent video on Archana's YouTube channel, the couple revealed that their long-lasting relationship started as a casual one.

In the YouTube video, the couple went on to speak about how their relationship evolved from a casual one-night stand to the ultimate love story that ended up in a marriage.

Looking back at their early days, the couple recalled how quickly they grew close to each other. Their connection became so strong that Parmeet once even cut short a family vacation midway just to rush back and be with Archana.

They revealed that they first met at a friend’s house in 1988. However, it was later that same night, when they went clubbing with the same group of friends, that they truly began interacting and getting to know each other. The very next day, Archana found herself eagerly waiting for Parmeet’s call — and he did call.

From that point onwards, their conversations became frequent and regular. Reflecting on that phase, Parmeet admitted, “This was meant to be a fling, a one-night stand,” to which Archana added, “Very casual.”

Providing more context, Archana explained, “I had just broken up with my ex and he had broken up with his ex and both of us were in a rebound phase. People say rebound relationships don’t last but we are proof that these relationships can work.”

As their bond deepened, the two became almost inseparable. Parmeet’s decision to abandon a family holiday midway and return just to be with Archana highlighted how quickly his priorities had changed.

Archana further recalled, “Something that was supposed to be a one-night stand, a fling, a casual affair… We told each other very clearly that this won’t be serious.” Parmeet chimed in, adding that they would constantly reassure one another, almost on a daily basis, that their relationship was not serious.

What started as a brief and casual connection slowly transformed into a meaningful partnership built on companionship, trust, and emotional comfort. Eventually, the couple decided to formalise their relationship and tied the knot in 1992.

At that point in her career, Archana had already made a name for herself in films and was considered a well-known personality. Parmeet, who came from a more modest background, initially felt intimidated by her success and popularity. He believed she was far beyond his reach and never thought she would return his feelings. Over time, however, these insecurities dissolved as mutual respect, affection, and understanding became more important than differences in background or professional stature.

Archana also fondly reminisced about Parmeet’s romantic gestures during the initial phase of their relationship. He would often bring her three red roses and say ‘I love you’ while pointing to each one. Laughing about it now, Parmeet admitted, “I didn’t have money either so I would borrow money from her to buy her roses.” Archana recalled eventually asking him to stop once it became a regular affair. “When he started doing it regularly, and continued borrowing from me, I told him, ‘Let it be now… Stop buying roses’ and he wondered, ‘Do you want to stop our love?’”

Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi are parents to two sons, Aaryamann Sethi and Ayushmaan Sethi.
