
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt hailed Yami Gautam for "one of the top female performances" in the courtroom drama "Haq" and declared that she has grown to love the actor.
On Sunday, Alia shared a photo of Yami from the movie on Instagram along with a message. She penned in the caption, “Queen @yamigautam, you are pure craft, heart and all things gold in 'Haq'!@ One of my top female performances of all time.”
Alia further noted in the caption that she is eagerly waiting for Yami’s upcoming projects. She added, "As I mentioned over the phone too... am a Yami fan waiting eagerly for all your work to once again charm and entertain us all.”
The movie, which was directed by Suparn Verma, also starred Emraan Hashmi. As portrayed in Jigna Vora's book "Bano: Bharat Ki Beti," it dramatises the circumstances surrounding the historic Mohd Ahmed Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum case.

When Shah Bano's lawyer husband filed for divorce in 1978, the legal dispute began. In 1985, it reached the Supreme Court. In the end, a five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court declared that Muslim women were legally entitled to maintenance.
The movie debuted in theatres on November 7, 2025, and it began to stream on Netflix on January 2.

Yami Gautam portrayed the role of Shazia Bano in the film.
Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala. She is now gearing up to star in Love and War, which will also star Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She will also star in Alpha, a spy movie directed by Shiv Rawali that will be a part of the YRF Spy Universe. Alia is also gearing up for a sequel to Brahmastra: Part 1: Shiva.
