"Akshaye Khanna’s viral dance wasn’t choreographed", says Hirav Mehta on actor’s entry to Fa9la in Dhurandhar

Akshaye Khanna has made a grand comeback with Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar. Akshaye’s portrayal of Rehman Dakait has become an internet sensation, especially his dashing entry to Flipperachi’s Fa9la.

However, Akshaye’s co-star Hirav Mehta, who plays a BUF (Baloch United Force) rebel in the film, shared behind-the-scenes details of the shooting of the song.

During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Hirav talked about Akshaye’s amazing aura. He also praised the actor’s energy on the set while filming the viral dance moment.

Hirav said, “When I went on the set, I first met Ranveer Singh sir and obviously his energy is power-packed. He’s always very cheerful, and everyone’s face lights up when he enters. His energy gets transferred to everyone, but when he’s in character, he’s completely locked in.”

He added, “Meeting Akshaye Khanna was equally memorable for him. The way he comes on set, he has this amazing aura. He greets everyone and then instantly locks into the character.”

He elaborated, “Their entry shot was done, and then we went into the tent where all the dancers were already dancing. Ranveer sir was pumping up the energy, saying, ‘Let’s go guys, let’s go!’ When it was Akshaye sir’s turn, his dance wasn’t choreographed at all. He was completely in the zone, vibing with the dancers and enjoying the moment.”

Mehta went on to say that once the other performers entered the frame, they instinctively moved in time with the beat.

The song instantly went viral on social media. Talking about the unexpected response, Hirav said, “None of us ever imagined that this scene would break the internet among all the scenes in the film. I’m just incredibly grateful to be a part of the scene and the movie itself. Seeing audiences replay it and truly vibe with it is something I never imagined would happen.”

Dhurandhar also stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles. The action spy is about an underworld saga following a network of criminals, informants and operatives whose lives intersect, navigating covert operations, espionage and betrayals.
