Akshaye Khanna is clearly enjoying a moment where both critics and audiences are paying close attention to his choices.

After winning widespread appreciation for his intense and layered performance in Dhurandhar, the actor is once again making headlines—but this time for a reason no one quite expected.

Just when fans assumed his next move would stay within the serious, hard-edged space, reports suggest Akshaye Khanna is preparing to return to comedy with Bhagam Bhag 2, reuniting with Akshay Kumar in the process.

Dhurandhar has had an incredible run, breaking records and winning accolades from all quarters. Many viewers have described it as one of Akshaye's most influential performances to date, and his subdued yet commanding presence has been a major talking point.

Naturally, curiosity around his next project has been high. If the latest reports are accurate, fans won’t have to wait too long to see a completely different side of him on screen.

According to Box Office Worldwide, Akshaye Khanna will be part of Bhagam Bhag 2, marking his first collaboration with Akshay Kumar in over a decade.

The two were last seen together in the 2010 film Tees Maar Khan, and their reunion has already sparked excitement, especially among viewers who enjoy watching seasoned actors bounce off each other in lighter, comedic settings.

According to the same report, Bhagam Bhag 2 filming is expected to start in 2026. Raaj Shaandilyaa, best known for Dream Girl, is anticipated to direct the sequel, suggesting a contemporary approach to situational and character-driven humor.

The story is reportedly set to continue from where the 2006 hit Bhagam Bhag left off, which could allow the chaos and misunderstandings that defined the original to return in a familiar yet refreshed form.

It is also being said that Meenakshi Chaudhary will play an important role alongside Akshay Kumar and Akshaye Khanna. For now, however, all of this remains in the realm of reports, as the filmmakers have yet to make an official announcement.

Released in 2006 and directed by Priyadarshan, the original Bhagam Bhag has long been a fan favourite.

The film, which starred Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal, followed a struggling London theater group whose lives go completely insane after they get entangled in a murder investigation.

It is still regarded as one of the most beloved comedies of its era, full of wild humor, perplexity, and standout performances.
