Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff met Lionel Messi in Mumbai

Football legend Lionel Messi recently attended an event at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday in Mumbai. The event was also graced by Bollywood actors Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgn.

While fans cheered for the actors during the on-field program, the noise also included booing, making Lionel Messi's India trip an awkward moment. The situation started when the organisers stopped the event to congratulate the celebrities present.

Loud boos erupted from sections of the stadium as the announcer called actor Tiger Shroff on stage and referred to him as a "youth icon." When Ajay Devgn was invited for his felicitation, the response was repeated moments later, with onlookers clearly voicing their disapproval.

Given that many people in the stands had assembled especially for the football star, the reaction seemed to be the result of supporters' impatience.

Messi also met Kareena Kapoor and her sons, Taimur and Jeh and clicked pictures with them.

For the unversed, Messi arrived at the Wankhede Stadium later in the evening after arriving in Mumbai on Sunday morning as part of his GOAT India trip. The stadium was full and excited to see the 38-year-old football legend.

Messi engaged with the audience earlier in the show by tossing balls into the stands and chatting with Sunil Chhetri, the former captain of India's football team. Prior to having a well-praised moment with Sachin Tendulkar, he also had a meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Messi has previously travelled to Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai as part of his GOAT India tour. On Monday, December 15, the tour is expected to end in Delhi.
