Actor Abhinav Shukla recently came out in support of Ira Khan, the daughter of actor Aamir Khan, after she faced trolling on social media over her fashion choices during a recent marathon race in Mumbai.

Ira, alongside her father Aamir Khan, participated in the Tata Mumbai Marathon on January 18 in support of the Paani Foundation and Agatsu Foundation. For the run, she opted for a white tank top paired with black shorts. However, a social media user took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to mock both her outfit choice and her body type.

The trolling angered Abhinav, who slammed the online critics for body-shaming Ira. He defended her by emphasizing that how one dresses is a personal choice and praised her as the only star kid who is real and down to earth.

Taking to X, Abhinav wrote, “One Star Kid who is real & down to earth, she dont act entitled , no drama, no show off, no entourage of 5 bouncers & managers ….much of the time she and her brother are traveling in a rick dressed up like normal kids."

He further added, “Whats wrong here i dont understand ! She is at-least putting an effort to be active ! Dressing is purely personal choice.”

In addition to Abhinav, several other netizens came forward to defend Ira and voice their support for her.

Meanwhile, Ira has openly discussed her struggles with body image issues on social media. Recently, she took to Instagram to reveal that she has been grappling with how she perceives her body since 2020—a topic she says feels far more frightening to discuss than her earlier revelations about depression.

Ira Khan has also previously spoken about her long battle with clinical depression, including the feelings of guilt she experienced for struggling despite coming from a privileged background.

Abhinav Shukla’s support, along with that of other netizens, highlights the importance of standing up against body shaming and respecting personal choices, while Ira Khan’s openness about her struggles serves as a reminder of the courage it takes to speak out on mental health and self-image, inspiring many to embrace authenticity and empathy in both online and real-world spaces.
