Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan stole the spotlight off-screen at the World Pickleball League (WPBL) 2026 event in Mumbai on Saturday — but not just for his presence on the court. The 60-year-old actor, who was participating in an exhibition match with a few fans at the Jio World Garden, had a minor mishap mid-play when he slipped while attempting a shot.

In footage shared widely on social media, Aamir is seen moving forward to return a ball when his foot loses traction, causing him to tumble briefly before hitting the ground. Rather than letting the moment dampen his spirits, the star quickly got back up with a broad smile, seemed unfazed by the fall, and continued playing — a display that impressed many in the crowd and cheerfully earned applause and encouragement from onlookers.

The event, part of WPBL’s ongoing season featuring exhibition and competitive pickleball matches, has seen more celebrities and personalities embracing the sport, which blends elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong — and is rapidly gaining popularity in India thanks to support from stars and influencers.

Fans reacting to Aamir’s slip took to social media to praise his fitness and spirit. Comments ranged from admiration for his willingness to participate in an active sport at his age to light-hearted remarks about the unpredictability of pickleball matches. Many noted how, despite the brief stumble, he handled it with grace and good humour, underscoring his down-to-earth personality beyond his storied film career.

“O Teri,” one fan wrote in the comment section of the video, with another sharing, “Fitness is good”. “At his age, many people don't even step onto the ground,” one commented. Another added, “He is so steady.”

Aamir’s appearance comes on the heels of a relatively quiet phase for him on the acting front. He was last seen playing a cameo role in Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, and has an upcoming production, Ek Din, starring his son Junaid Khan with Sai Pallavi, that’s awaited by fans.
