Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's younger brother Faissal Khan had claimed that his family had allegedly kept him under house arrest for long.
Now, Aamir Khan has spoken about the conflict, stating that he chose not to fight with his own family.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Aamir addressed his ongoing feud with Faissal Khan.
When asked about Faissal accusing him of multiple transgressions, including illegal confinement and career sabotage, the actor said, “Kya karein? (What to do?) That is my destiny. You can fight the world, but how can you fight your own family?”
Then he also spoke about the failure of his film Mela where he had worked with Faissal and Twinkle Khanna. He said: "I was obviously disappointed by its failure to achieve its potential. Beyond that, I think it’s tough to answer your question. First of all, let me tell you, every film I do, means a lot to me. The failure of Mela definitely made a difference to me. It was hard on Faissal, but it was hard on me as well."
Aamir further said that it was disheartening to see any of his films not reach the level of success they deserved, noting that the entire team had put in immense effort and that the outcome left everyone feeling disappointed.
The Khan family feud came into the spotlight after Faissal announced that he had severed all ties with the family.
He alleged that Aamir had an affair with UK-based journalist Jessica Hines while still married to his first wife, Reena Dutta, and even fathered a child with her.
In response to Faissal’s remarks, Aamir Khan’s family had released a public statement expressing distress over what they described as “hurtful and misleading" portrayals of family members, including Aamir’s mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and Aamir himself.
Aamir and Faissal had previously starred together in the 2000 film Mela alongside Twinkle Khanna.
