Global K-pop star Jisoo has sparked excitement among Indian fans after expressing interest in working in Bollywood. The BLACKPINK member recently revealed that she would be open to appearing in a Hindi film, and the idea has already set social media buzzing with casting suggestions and dream collaborations.
During a recent interaction with India Today while promoting her upcoming project Boyfriend On Demand, Jisoo was joined by her co-star Seo In-guk. The two were asked whether they would be interested in working on a Bollywood film, particularly one exploring themes of AI romance.
Seo In-guk responded enthusiastically, saying he would be more than happy to take up such an opportunity. “If I’m given the opportunity, I would absolutely love to do it,” he said.
Jisoo also responded positively and encouraged fans to stay tuned for possible collaborations in the future. Laughing, she said, “I hope you can, you know, please look out for us. We’ll be there.” Her playful comment quickly spread across social media platforms, especially among Indian fans of BLACKPINK, popularly known as BLINKS.
Soon after the interview began circulating online, fans started imagining what a Bollywood debut for Jisoo could look like. One name that repeatedly surfaced in discussions was acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Many fans believe Jisoo’s elegance, expressive eyes, and graceful screen presence would fit perfectly in Bhansali’s visually grand storytelling style.
Social media users began tagging several major Bollywood production houses, including Yash Raj Films, Dharma Productions, Red Chillies Entertainment, and T-Series, suggesting they consider casting Jisoo in a future Hindi film. One fan wrote, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali, if you EVER make an Indian movie with a Korean period setting, you know whom to cast.”
Another fan jokingly tagged blockbuster director S. S. Rajamouli, suggesting he might be the only filmmaker capable of mounting a project big enough to bring such an international collaboration to life.
The excitement around Jisoo possibly entering Bollywood is also tied to her steadily growing acting career. While she first rose to global fame as a member of BLACKPINK, she has gradually built a strong presence in the acting world as well.
Jisoo made her acting debut in a leading role in the 2021 Korean drama Snowdrop, where she played the character Eun Young-ro. The performance received significant attention and helped establish her credibility as an actress. She later won the Outstanding Korean Actress award at the Seoul International Drama Awards for the role.
Since then, Jisoo has continued exploring different genres and expanding her acting portfolio. In 2025, she appeared in the zombie thriller series Newtopia, portraying a rookie office worker navigating a dangerous outbreak.
The same year also marked her big-screen debut with the fantasy film Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy. Looking ahead, she is set to star in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy series Boyfriend On Demand.
With her international popularity and growing acting experience, the idea of Jisoo appearing in a Bollywood film no longer feels impossible. For now, fans can only imagine what such a cross-cultural cinematic collaboration might look like.
