The planners and families shared a common philosophy for the wedding: honour tradition, embrace simplicity and create meaningful experiences rather than focus on extravagance. Over five months of detailed preparation, the team worked on conceptual design, guest journeys and intricate logistical coordination to bring together two distinct yet seamlessly connected celebrations.

The festivities began on March 3 with the Punjabi Mehendi celebration titled SaanJ at Gallops, Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai. Designed as a vibrant sundowner gathering, the venue transformed into a lively carnival-inspired setting filled with bold colours, textures and festive elements. The celebration balanced joyful energy with tasteful elegance.

A standout feature of the Mehendi ceremony was the Mehendi Bazaar Gifting Experience. Guests were invited to explore curated stalls where personalised tote bags were assembled with carefully selected gifts including bangles, bindis, artisanal bath salts, lip balms, traditional mukhwas and authentic Amritsar-sourced aam papad. The concept turned wedding gifting into an interactive cultural experience.

The décor also included a lush floral swing installation that quickly became the focal point of the venue. Live music and energetic performances filled the afternoon with celebration and movement, ensuring that guests were fully immersed in the joyous atmosphere rather than simply observing the festivities.

The wedding ceremony itself took place on the morning of March 5 at The St. Regis Mumbai under the theme SaaJ. In contrast to the colourful Mehendi celebration, the wedding embraced a design philosophy of subtle grandeur. The ceremony unfolded beneath a stunning 270-degree mandap installation crafted with delicate baby’s breath flowers. Soft shades of off-white, blush pink, fresh greens and muted gold created a calm, dreamlike environment that elevated the sanctity of the rituals.

Adding emotional depth to the ceremony were live performances by renowned musicians. Singer Harshdeep Kaur accompanied the bride’s entry, while celebrated musician Shankar Mahadevan performed the traditional Mangalashtak, lending the ceremony a powerful spiritual presence.

Following the wedding rituals, guests were treated to a traditional Maharashtrian Pangat, a seated dining experience that emphasised community and heritage. Organising a large-scale pangat across multiple halls required precise coordination between culinary teams, service staff and guest management teams.

To maintain privacy and security for the high-profile guest list, the planners implemented a personalised QR code entry system. This ensured seamless guest access while preserving the family’s preference for discretion.

Speaking about the celebration, Anjali Tendulkar shared her appreciation for the planning team, saying everything had been perfectly managed. Sachin Tendulkar also expressed gratitude for the smooth execution of the event.

The wedding was attended by close family members and several prominent personalities from sports, business and entertainment. Among the notable attendees were Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Nita Ambani, Akash Ambani and Shloka Ambani, Farhan Akhtar, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh with Hazel Keech, Harbhajan Singh with Geeta Basra, Zaheer Khan with Sagarika Ghatge, Irfan Pathan with Sara Baig, Ravi Shastri and several others.

Despite the presence of such influential figures, the celebrations remained intimate and deeply personal. The wedding of Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok ultimately stood out not for its scale, but for its thoughtful blend of tradition, culture and heartfelt celebration.
